Fees Painting/Painters: One Artist can paint approximately 7-10 faces per hour depending on the intricacy of the designs that are chosen. Be sure to book your time accordingly to avoid leaving anyone out. PLEASE do not ask us to disappoint any guests due to lack of time booked. Sometimes we have an event booked right after yours and we may not be able to stay past stop time contracted here. If you exceed the time booked and we are available to stay, it will be charged in one hour increments. Client will pay for the time booked plus overrun. Even if Client has delayed the time we start the actual painting. We accept credit cards. Credit card is required at the time of booking to hold the party. Client must pay for a minimum of 2 hour even if Client uses Artist for less than 2 hour. Completed contract must be received 14 calendar days prior to event or client runs the risk of losing that date.
Travel/setup/other fees: Travel fees apply when the event is more than 45 minutes from Hayes, Virginia. Generally $25 per artist, per half hour increment. Depending on your event, there may be a charge for outdoor, lengthy or difficult setup - usually $30 but please call for a quote. Parking fees must be paid to Artist with other payment. In the event we accept a check for corporate events, should a check be returned, there is a $40 returned check fee.
Parking: Please either leave a space open in front of the house on the street, the driveway, or a loading dock so Artist can park, unload & load equipment. The Client will reimburse Artist for any parking fees.
Indoor Setup Bathroom facilities, a minimum of 8’ x 8’ space (depending on location and space limitations) and 20 minutes of set-up and take down time each is required. Please ensure that location has adequate lighting.
Ensure that there is electricity provided and easily accessible at the space for air brush and nail art dryers.
Two Options for Outdoor Setup:
(1) You provide us with sun/wind/rain shelter, table, 2 chairs per Artist, and adequate space, electricity & lighting to paint. We will need 20 minutes to set up / take down in this case.
(2) For “at home” parties, Client must provide a covered/shaded area, 10’ x 10’ in size and 2 chairs. For evening and nighttime parties, client will also provide adequate lighting. We can bring our easy-up shelter, table, and chairs for an additional charge of $25 and $10 for use of our lights. We will need to set up 30 minutes prior to start / after completion of event. For combo parties we will arrive one hour in advance. We require a minimum of 10’ L x 10’ W x 11’ H of level space, adequate lighting, access to a rest room and a place to dispose of our painting water.
Please don’t water your lawn on the day of your party, or soak it heavily the previous day if possible.
Weather (for outdoor events): While Client can choose to pay for the Artist to bring an EZ Up shelter, for the comfort of your guests and our artists, the client agrees to provide and area with protection from extreme temperatures, sun, rain, snow and excessive wind. Client is responsible to provide an alternate indoor location in the event of inclement weather.
The Client agrees to pay the full amount contracted once the painter has arrived at the event location, even if it is raining. Please list an alternate indoor location on the front of the contract as we do not offer refunds for inclement weather.
Breaks and Stop Time: Artist will have paid breaks of 5-10 minutes every two hours and access to a rest room. If you have booked by the hour, it is your responsibility to limit additional guests from requesting service after the time. Please book enough time to have all your guests painted to avoid this disappointment.
If for any reason we have an equipment malfunction of air compressors or bubble machines, a refund will be issued based on the total amount of time that that the equipment was working, in .25 hr increments of contracted time. If equipment is not working at all, a full refund will be made. If assignment is partially completed, refund will be pro-rated, unless the issue was caused by a member of the party causing damage or breaking our equipment.
All photos taken by the Artist will remain the property of Creative Chameleon Media and will be licensed to the Client and their guests. Photos will not be used by the Artist for individual commercial sale; however, may appear on printed and internet marketing pieces of Creative Chameleon Media and Creative Chameleon Designs.
Cancellations / Refunds / Reschedule: Should you need to reschedule your event, please do so at least 7 days prior and we will make every effort to meet your needs. If you need to cancel the event, you must cancel within 7 days of the event or you will be charged one-half ( ½ ) of the total contracted amount.
**We do not offer refunds for inclement weather so please secure an alternate indoor location for your event in advance. In the event of severe weather conditions, and your event is rescheduled, the Artist will make every effort to reschedule your appointment with your revised event. Should our Artist get sick/have to cancel due to unforeseen reasons such as medical issues, the full amount of your booking will be refunded to you.
Limitations On Artwork: If in public, artist will not paint on any part of the body that is not legal to expose or any place the artist does not feel comfortable painting. In addition, Artist will not paint subject matter that Artist deems offensive or disturbing.
Artist may refuse to paint any symbols or other illustrations that are commonly attributed to “gang” or illegal group affiliations.
Extreme Adverse Working Conditions: Artist has the right to cease painting and leave without refunding any monies if there are extreme adverse working conditions and the Client fails to remedy the situation after it has been brought to the Client’s attention. Adverse conditions include but not limited to: destructive, violent, or extreme inappropriate behavior of a child, pet or adult; illegal activities; or otherwise dangerous conditions.
Liability Statement: While we use ONLY hypo-allergenic FDA approved, latex free, cosmetic grade face and body painting supplies, glitters, tattoos, and glue. Artist is not liable for allergic reactions to paints or supplies. People with skin allergies or sensitive skin should either not participate, or have Artist perform a patch test at the beginning of the party. Client understands that darker face paints will linger and must be removed with mild soap, water, or baby oil, and washcloth. For safety reasons, Artist will not paint children under 2 years old or anyone who is unwilling. For sanitary reasons, Artist will not paint anyone who is or appears to the Artist to be sick or suffering from cold sores, conjunctivitis, ring worm, sunburn, eczema, any infectious skin condition or open wounds. “Belly Bumps” will only be hand-painted designs. We will not airbrush our pre-natal designs. These determinations are at the Artist’s discretion. Artist will use reasonable care, but is not responsible for injury to individuals, damage clothing or property. The Client agrees to pay for any accidents or injuries caused by pets or guests, and/ or and damage to Artist’s equipment or supplies caused by pets, lawn sprinklers, or guests. Corporate or business clients will name Karen Lawson and Creative Edge Business Solutions dba Creative Chameleon Media additional insured. For chalk and bubble stations, children should be dressed accordingly. Artist is not responsible for stains or clothing becoming ruined or soiled during these activities.
Under no circumstances will Artists supervise children. Their behavior and safety is the Client’s and/ or Parents’ responsibility.
